Mrs. Erika Vejar has over 20 years of experience in the field of both immigration and criminal law. She is not just your average attorney. She is an advocate for her clients. She has a deep commitment to the profession of law and compassion for her clients. Mrs. Vejar fights aggressively for her clients and has represented immigrants from many parts of the world. She is a native and fluent Spanish speaker who remains very engaged in the community. She builds strong connections with her clients. Often times she enters their lives during some of their most difficult times filled with intense worry and fear. What motivated Mrs. Vejar towards this career path is the desire to help reunite families, give voice to those who often have no voice in the system, and fight for the rights of our immigrants.
Montserrath has been a valuable member of our team since 2021. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona which she received in May of 2021. She graduated on the Dean’s list. Monce works on USCIS forms, retrieves court dockets, receives case files from the public defender’s office, submits and tracks freedom of information act. She also helps with all our FBI requests. Montserrath is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. She steps in and assists the teams and is very well respected in the community. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and listening to music. She looks forward to your call and assists you with your concerns.
Raemee, our Paralegal, has been a member of our team in 2021. She has worked on a variety of cases including Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Adjustment of Status, Family Petitions, Removal of Conditions, Requests for Evidence, Waivers, Consular Process, U Certification, U Visas, U Certification Appeal, T Visa, TN Visa, and Asylum, just to name a few. She also has experience in with new Parolees for individuals on the USCIS’s pre-approved list (I-134), Mitigation Packets. She has extensive experience in filing for EOIR cases, BIA cases and 9th Circuit cases, completing police report or court records requests, medical records requests, writing declarations, translating documents, live scan fingerprinting, preparing contracts, and scheduling.
In term spare time, she has volunteered with Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project from 2019 to 2021 assisting the Ontario office with the Adult Detainee Program for individuals. She provides resources to detainees, intakes, document translations, and communicates with the detainees.
Raemee has also volunteered with Harriet Buhai Center from 2020 to 2021 as an interpreter for the legal intakes and attorney conferences with clients who have been the victim of domestic violence.
She is currently interning and volunteering with Al Otro Lado Border Rights Project. She is a current member of the translations team: preparing evidence packets for asylum seekers, preparing humanitarian parole requests, client intakes, attorney/client consult interpretations, translating documents, and engages in ongoing communications with individuals waiting at Mexico’s border. She is also now helping individuals who have crossed in filing EAD’s and Asylum applications.
